$10,000 Every Day You Survive Prison is an expensive challenge video created by MrBeast. In this video, for every day Josh stays in a room isolated from the outside world, he wins $10,000. He can choose to leave the room anytime by pressing a red "exit" button.
Synopsis
After being introduced to the challenge, Josh spends his first day enjoying the various amenities in his room, such as a pool table and a massage chair. After spending 24 hours, he earns his first $10,000 at 6pm.
With this, Jimmy introduces the "catch" to the challenge: for every $10,000 given to Josh, he must sacrifice one of 25 items in his room. Josh decides to sacrifice his soft-serve ice cream machine, which is promptly broken after Chandler accidentally knocked it down. He then finds the new catch impactful to him, as Josh must now decide every day on an item to sacrifice.
On the second day, Josh sacrificed his fire extinguisher. On the third day, he sacrifices a bed of flowers. Jimmy also brought in a private chef to cook any dish Josh wanted, and he ends off the day playing his guitar.
On the fourth day, Jimmy offered to add $5,000 to Josh's $10,000 if the latter allowed Karl to pick the item to sacrifice. Josh agreed, and Karl got rid of the framed picture of Josh and his girlfriend (which Karl erroneously referred to as his sister). Josh felt "insane" as looking at the picture would be the only time he could see his girlfriend until the day he leaves the room.
For Day 5, Karl had to "take care" of Josh since Jimmy had to film Would You Swim With Sharks For $10,000?. Karl proves to be a nuisance, as he throws a whiteboard and a basketball into Josh's hot tub and attempts to destroy the room. The whiteboard is subsequently sacrificed.
For the sixth day, the bench press is taken away, as Josh wanders around his room. For the seventh day, Josh decided to get rid of the drumset, and destroys it. This leads Jimmy to ask Josh whether he was "mentally okay", to which Josh responds that he is, and felt "loose" after venting his frustration at the drumset. This also leads Jimmy to reveal to the viewers the other catch: there is a check for $100,000 hidden in the guitar, and Josh can keep it if he finds it. Throughout the night, a cleaning crew is sent into the room to tidy up the place.
On the eighth day, Josh sacrifices the flamethrower. Jimmy and Chris decide to project themselves onto the roof of the room. The ninth day has Jimmy offering to give Josh an extra $10,000 if Nolan spent one day with Josh, to which Josh agreed again. The duo play music, with Nolan using a suitcase as a makeshift drum since the drumset was destroyed. Nolan then almost presses the exit button, with Josh having to convince him to play video games with him. They continue to spend time together doing various activities.
On the tenth day, to mark this milestone, a custom $10,000 cake is brought in for Josh but due to its height, part of the cake collapses. On the eleventh day, Josh sacrifices a small table. On Day 12, with Jimmy realizing how much Josh missed his girlfriend, Josh agrees to allow his girlfriend into the room and give him $5,000 instead of the regular $10,000 Jimmy would give. Josh and his girlfriend embrace each other, and spend 10 minutes together in the room.
On the thirteenth day, Josh got rid of his PS5 controller and console. He is reminded of a bet he made with Chandler on Day 1, whereby Chandler would give him $10,000 if he lasted more than 10 days. Josh then wanted $20,000 of his winnings to be given to Chris and Chandler for them to buy him his wedding ring. He expresses his desire to propose to his girlfriend after looking at his ring.
On the fourteenth day, Josh gets rid of his TV. On the fifteenth day, Jake Paul interacted with Josh through a Facetime call projected into the room. On the sixteenth day, Josh placed all of his suitcases in the center of his room, and gives up a recliner. On the seventeenth day, he gets rid of a treadmill, with Nolan entering to play VR. On the eighteenth day, Josh grows more desire in wanting to leave the room, with Jimmy jokingly mocking him, and gives up his VR headset.
On the nineteenth day, Josh gets rid of the hot tub. Chris attempted to remove the hot tub from the room using a forklift, but causes destruction to the room, staining the floor and damaging the entrance. The twentieth day has Josh sacrificing a pool table, and him continuing to miss his girlfriend. The twenty-first day has the basketball hoop removed. This leaves Josh with just his bedding and guitar.
On the twenty-second day, after breaking the strings of the guitar, he decides to sacrifice and destroy it, finding the check in the process. Josh then decides to propose to his girlfriend with the ring, to which she agrees to their marriage, with them embracing each other again. Josh presses the exit button, and leaves with $340,000 in total winnings.
