Departure[]
In mid-October of 2020, Jake left MrBeast[1]. On 18 November, Jake uploaded a video, Why I Left MrBeast, to his YouTube channel.
He explains that he worked at MrBeast as a writer and director in addition to being on camera. Gradually, he lost his passion for his job as he felt that he had many things he wanted to do as a stand-up comedian which he could not do. He also thought that as MrBeast's subscribers increased, he found it hard as a writer and director to appeal to MrBeast's big audience. He had no conflict with MrBeast or anybody from the crew, he just wanted to be independent.
Return[]
Despite this, he made a comeback into the channel on Make THIS Shot, Win $300,000 in June 2021. He made another appearance in I Spent 50 Hours In Prison in the same month and he managed to survive 50 hours in a prison cell. He was in the same prison cell as Zealous. In a video, he said he just recieved a call from MrBeast (as they're still friends) and asked Jake if he wanted to be in a few videos, and Jake said yes. [2]
In 2024, he would feature in a video speaking out about the alleged misconduct he faced while working for MrBeast.
Trivia[]
- The reason why he may be referred as "Weddle" (from his last name) is because MrBeast had another crew member named Jake the Viking, so that the two aren't confused from their first names.
